TEMA - Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Association of India is India's first and oldest association in Indian Telecom Sector. Established in 1990, TEMA has always advocated and stressed the need for strengthening the manufacturing of telecom equipment in India so as not only to become self-reliant but also export. Working closely with the Government on growth and indigenization of the Electronics/Telecom Sector, TEMA is the first one in bringing focus on the associated security risks due to continuous dependence on imported network equipment and components for the telecom networks in India. To promote and develop the "Make in India "brand globally, TEMA also promoted an international body CMAI for International cooperation and policy dialogue and to cover related sectors of Cyber, ICT, Infrastructure, Education & Skilling etc, with 48,500 members and MOUs with74 International and National Organizations, CMAI is now the largest ICT association in Asia for global cooperation and policy dialogue not only in the sector of Telecom but also in all associated sectors such as ICT, Education, Cyber Security, Skill development, Innovation and Start-Up ecosystem. CMAI supports financially TEMA and all other promoted associations including Cyber Security Association of India.
TEMA Members get exemption to pay admission fees and other privileges, when joining TEMA promoted TEPC (Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council), which is a DPIIT/DOT promoted Export Council dedicated to exports and manufacturing.
We are in regular touch with the Government of India in the PMO, Niti Aayog, DPIIT, National Security Advisors office, National Cyber Security Coordinator, DOT, Meity, BSNL, Commerce & Industries Ministry, Information & Broadcasting Ministry /MHRD/ MSME/ MNRE/ TEC/ DGFT/ NSIC/BIS/Railtel, IRCTC, AICTE, UGC, Sector Skill Council, Import & Export through various trade missions and industrial associations. CMAI, represents Communications Multimedia Applications Infrastructure Sectors. Dr Hamadoun Toure, Former Secretary General,ITU- International Telecom Union Geneva (an elected UN Body) is CMAI Chairman Emeritus. Sh. Ravi Sharma, Chairman, IIIT Una Chairman IIT Council Former CEO Adani Powers is Executive Chairman. The Board consists of several eminent persons, industrialists, and bureaucrats.
CMAI is known world over as the only association in the world whose President Prof NK Goyal has inaugurated and joined the ribbon cutting of CES, Las Veg, USA world's largest electronics show for the last eleven years.
CMAI is also known for close interaction between its 48,500 industry/service sector members and 1, 00,000 educational institutes, the only association organizing education summits & events in all the States of India.

Being the official mouthpiece of the Indian Telecom Manufacturing Industry, TEMA plays the critical role of advising the Government and influencing decisions relating to the Indian Telecom Industry. TEMA also enjoys the privilege of proposing names of technical experts from the industry to various telecom committees of the Government of India and major National Industry Associations.
TEMA/CMAI influences policy formulations along with Government and other stakeholders for Make in India, PLI, MTCTE, Telecom, ICT, Cyber & Education Policy matters, Public Procurement, Testing & Standards issues, National Security related matters Technology Innovations, Green manufacturing and policies and procedures arising out of concern for Environmental Health. CMAI is also developing scientific knowledge, databases and devising practical means for protecting human ecology and environment from the harmful effects of environmental hazards like e waste, radiation etc. It assists manufacturers to maximize competitiveness in the domestic and international markets.
TEMA/CMAI also recognizes that exhibitions, trade delegations, seminars, buyer- seller meets are very important for trade promotion. CMAI collaborates, and cooperates with world renowned organizations, organizes and offers exhibitions, trade shows, seminars and information.
TEMA & CMAI are known for some of specialized advocacy and activities such as:
i) Govt. Public procurement matters called PPP-MII. TEMA is known to be expert in rules/provisions related to procurement as issued by Govt./CVC/CAG/DOT/Meity/DIPP etc.
ii) TEMA is known as the procurement author of the procurement manuals of PSUs like BSNL/MTNL.
iii) TEMA plays the most active part in standards/specification/quality testing and its procedures etc. in TEC/QA/DOT/PSUs.
iv) TEMA plays the most proactive role in policy/procedure/ER/IR & GR formulations for mandatory testing of telecom products and is the only body member of all the committees formed on this behalf.
v) TEC Mandatory testing (MTCTE). TEMA is privileged to have joined and contributed to all about 100 meetings on Mandatory testing and played an active role in its policies, procedures, formulation of ERs.

1. Founding Member - Rs 50, 00,000 +GST Admission Fees on specific invitation on approval by Board and annual fees as may be decided by Board. Special package for them.
2. Prime Members – Rs 50,000 p.m + GST payable yearly or half yearly IN ADDITION to admission fees/membership fees as per the category depending on turnover.
Prime Members are entitled for privileged access to specified services including representations of their individual companies.

6. Start Up Members: They will submit details and on verification, the admission fees and Annual fees shall be informed.
7. Members belonging to Physically empowered, socially challenged categories They may apply for concessional membership.
8. Overseas Privileged Member Overseas members are welcome to join.
9. Existing Members for more than five years They may apply for special dispensation.
